Take part in this enchanting two city holiday to Ireland, where a hundred thousand welcomes await you. See for yourself the spectacular coastal terrains, castles and shamrocks. Experience the Irish theatre, music, dining and pubs where fun and good conversation are the fabric of the country and its people.

KILKENNY
Kilkenny City is called the "Marble City" built mainly of limestone rock. Kilkenny has produced many artists including builders and sculptors who continue the ancient Irish tradition of beautiful work in metal and other materials. The many well-preserved castles located in County Kilkenny make it one of the most exciting counties in Ireland.

KILLARNEY
Just off the Atlantic in County Kerry, not far from Ireland's southwest coast, Killarney is a sheltered Camelot-like town, surrounded by 23 square miles of idyllic lakes, mountains, islands, castles, waterfalls, and parklands. Unlike Camelot, however, the rains and mists come often to Killarney, but the natives say the moisture is what keeps it such a naturally verdant paradise.

From Kilkenny and Killarney we have selected exciting and informational optional excursions.

Optional Excursions

From KILLARNEY

DINGLE PENINSULA - Breathtaking coastal scenery and spectacular seascapes are revealed as we travel the narrow promontory known as the Dingle Peninsula. Visit beautiful Inch Beach, made famous by the movie Ryan's Daughter, and the Slea Head Drive, one of Ireland’s most scenic routes, with magnificent views of the Blasket Islands. Discover fascinating antiquities ranging from ancient Iron Age forts to early Christian huts and visit the lively, colorful village of Dingle.

MUCKROSS HOUSE & GARDENS - The famous Jaunts of Killarney (traditional pony and trap) transport you into Killarney National Park, to the imposing Victorian mansion Muckross House. Enjoy this stately home, with its elegant rooms decorated with period furnishings, where Queen Victoria stayed during her visit in 1861. Explore the wonderfully landscaped gardens.

BLARNEY AND KINSALE - Nestled between hills and shoreline, Kinsale is one of Ireland’s prettiest small towns, with its maze of narrow streets and picturesque architecture. Explore the 17th century Charles Fort, built to protect Kinsale's harbor, a star-shaped fortress associated with momentous events in Irish history. Visit historic Blarney Castle with its legendary stone, renowned for bestowing the gift of eloquence to all who kiss it, and the village of Blarney, home to the famous Blarney Woolen Mills.

THE LIAM O'CONNOR SHOW - Join us for dinner and traditional Irish music and song by Liam O'Connor and his partner Lisa Aherne. A truly magical evening!

From KILKENNY

DUBLIN - Ireland's capital city, founded by the Vikings a thousand years ago, is a cosmopolitan city with a strong historical flavor particularly of the 18th century Georgian period. St. Patrick's Cathedral; the General Post Office; Phoenix Park, Europe's largest enclosed park; and stately Dublin Castle are just a few of the city's many historical and cultural treasures. The day culminates with a visit to the Guinness Storehouse to discover the history of the famous brew followed by a spectacular panoramic view of Dublin.

WATERFORD CRYSTAL FACTORY - Witness the creation of a Waterford masterpiece as local craftsmen skillfully transform molten sand, lead and potash into exquisite multifaceted crystal. Search for that special gift as you admire the spectacular display of the world's finest crystal in the factory's showroom.

GLENDALOUGH - The lush, wooded slopes of the Wicklow Mountains harbor the historical monastic site of Glendalough, founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Explore the many ruins and well-preserved round tower of this ancient and atmospheric settlement. Continue through the Vale of Avoca, whose beauty was captured by the Irish poet Thomas Moore, to the charming hamlet of Avoca for a visit with the hand weavers of colorful tweeds, created on the oldest hand-weaving mill in Ireland.

DINNER AT EDWARD LANGTON'S - Tonight enjoy dinner and entertainment at Edward Langton's, repeatedly recognized as Ireland's “Pub of the Year."
