TUSCANY REGION
A glorious creation of man and nature, the Tuscany region reveals everything that the popular image of Italy may conjure up: enchanting landscapes of olive groves, vineyards and rows of lofty cypresses marching up to hilltop villages; architectural masterpieces in its palazzi, villas and churches; and the grandest of Renaissance paintings and sculptures in its towns and cities.

Chianciano, located in the colorful Tuscan hills, is one of the most important and famous spa towns in Italy. Discover the charms of this elegant town as you explore its tree-lined streets flanked by fashionable shops and cafes. Enjoy its scenic parks, as well as the picturesque winding lanes of the ancient Etruscan historic center with its breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

FIUGGI
Fiuggi is a popular spa town delightfully situated on the slopes of Mount Erici, in the very heart of the Lazio region, just 40 miles east of Rome. Enjoy this picturesque town frequented in former times by such figures as the famous Pope Bonifacio VIII, Michelangelo and many others. An abundance of shops and restaurants and a charming medieval town, add to the delights of this classic Italian hill town.

Optional Excursions

From Chianciano

THE SPLENDOR OF TUSCANY
Explore the famous Tuscan countryside, immortalized in movies and literature. Be enchanted by the poplar-studded landscapes, dramatic hilltop towns and numerous vineyards, calling first at enchanting Siena. This medieval city rich with distinctive Sienese architecture is home to one of Italy's greatest cathedrals, the stunning striped marble Duomo and the Piazza del Campo, site of the famous Palio horse race. Visit delightful Pienza, a small, amazingly well preserved medieval village and visit a charming family-owned wine-producing estate near famous Montepulciano.

FLORENCE
Acknowledged as one of Italy's most beautiful cities and birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a treasure trove of architectural and artistic gems. Marvel at the majestic and richly decorated Cathedral and the Baptistery with its celebrated bronze doors, Giotto's colorful Campanile, the medieval Ponte Vecchio that spans the River Arno and Michelangelo's spectacular Statue of David in the Academy of Fine Arts. This is just a taste of the city's remarkable treasures.

ASSISI
One of Italy's most famous and beautiful hilltop towns, Assisi is the birthplace of Italy's patron saint, St. Francis. Enjoy the walled city's lovely fountain-splashed piazzas, charming medieval buildings set amidst quaint cobblestone streets and the magnificent Basilica of St. Francis, which dominates the town. The inspirational Basilica is filled with stunning frescoes detailing the life of St. Francis and is one of the great Christian shrines.

From Fiuggi

MONUMENTAL ROME
Capital of Italy and the ancient world, Rome offers monuments to its glorious past at every turn. Experience some of the 'Eternal City's' rich history as you visit the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and other landmarks, such as Piazza Venezia, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The afternoon is spent at the world's smallest city-state, the Vatican. Marvel at the vast collection of art in the Vatican Museums, the breathtaking frescoes of the Sistine Chapel and magnificent St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world. Rome's timeless treasures are sure to captivate you.

POMPEII
Visit the legendary archaeological site of Pompeii, the ruined city dug out from the ashes rained on it by proud Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D. For centuries the city lay buried under a blanket of ash and pumice until the well-preserved poignant ruins were unearthed in the 17th century. The extensive and varied ruins – frescoed villas, temples, shops and street walls with still visible graffiti – will movingly evoke on a grand scale a Roman city at the time of the Empire.

INCLUDED SCENIC TRANSFER Our leisurely drive will take us to Orvieto; an ancient city founded by the Etruscans, remarkably perched on top of a volcanic plateau and crowned by a magnificent cathedral. There will be time to enjoy lunch, (on your own), and explore the city's charming medieval streets and colorful piazzas or perhaps visit Orvieto's beautiful cathedral with its breathtaking façade.

Optional day and evening excursions will be available at an additional cost and may be booked prior to departure.
